Prior to joining Bamyan Law Group, Melisa worked as an Immigration lawyer in private law firms, advocating for clients with respect to their immigration matters. Additionally, she worked as an Officer at an Australian government body which gave her a strong knowledge of Australian immigration laws, Regulations and Policy.

Melisa has extensive experience preparing Australian visa applications and reviewing documentation her client’s visa processing while liaising with the Department of Home Affairs and other relevant parties to ensure accuracy and compliance. She has also experience appealing complex matters at the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), Federal Circuit Court (FCC) and has also previously volunteered at various community legal centres in Victoria.

She has a keen interest in Immigration matters including work visas (Independent and Sponsored work visas, including Sponsored work visas for skilled refugees), family visa categories, particularly challenging partner visa matters, complex Protection visas and Ministerial Interventions.

Melisa is fluent in Spanish, English.
